Happy Halloween!! 7 Freebies

Happy Halloween! Enjoy these freebies. I used them all with my students, so if you have any questions, just let me know :)

Font info for each item is below just in case you need/want them.

1) Make-A-Monster - 2 versions - Multiplication & Addition: Choose one or both. This is so much fun. I usually end up making a monster too!!

2) Halloween Writing Prompt: I put this out as a free write in the morning, then we share out our stories a few at at time throughout the day. You can have students share out their words from their "see, hear, feel" lists to generate a class list - either before or after they finish their stories. Some students need the visuals - for ideas and correct spelling - other students may not want to share their words so that their stories can remain a mystery until they share it! Later, you can classify the words into parts of speech: nouns, proper nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. I definitely wouldn't recommend doing that before they write their stories though - they will be excited to write!

3) Halloween Word Clouds: This is a link and a few examples of the Word Cloud generator on ABCya. I've used this with TK through 5th grade - it's SUPER easy! If you don't have access to computers/ipads, they can write/draw/color/decorate them. I definitely recommend brainstorming with the class and creating a word list. 4) The Great Pumpkin Experience: This science and math activity has been one of my favorite every year & side note - I got it from my Dad who taught upper grade for 40 years!! Most students have no idea that pumpkins will float!! My students did these activities at stations around the room. Most of the measuring and counting they can do on their own/with a classmate, so I definitely recommend stationing yourself at the "see if it will float" station - we all know its not a good idea to leave students unsupervised with a bucket of water! I used a big bucket, filled it halfway with water, and put that station just outside the door so we could keep the outcome a mystery. A parent note is included and both documents are editable.

5) Candy Corn Math: I created this for my 4th grade class. It is editable, so you can change the questions to suit your grade level.

6) Halloween Notecards: I made these to go with a treat I gave to our staff, but you can use them for anyone!
